SUN, MOON, STARS & GRAPES: BIODYNAMICS IN MODERN WINEMAKING

Biodynamic is a word being tossed around more often than ever in the wine world. But what exactly makes a wine biodynamic (versus organic or "natural")? This class will explore the foundations of this holistic view of agriculture and its unconventional (and entirely chemical-free) methodologies. We'll sample biodynamic wines from eight different producers and learn how biodynamic practices are influencing modern winemaking today.

Reminder: Our classes start promptly at their advertised time. If you arrive late we'll do our best to accommodate you, but we cannot guarantee that you will be served all of the wines.

About the instructor:

Lindsay Drew is a Certified Sommelier and Certified Specialist of Wine with over twelve years of experience in the restaurant industry. Last year, she took second place in the TEXSOM Best Sommelier competition. Mostly recently, she was assistant general manager and sommelier at Guild, and she is currently Beverage Director of the Arrive East Austin Hotel, which includes Vixen's Wedding, Lefty's Brick Bar, and a nameless gin-focused bar.
