About the Auction

The Rare & Fine Wine Auction Gala is the Wine & Food Foundation’s flagship event and our biggest fundraiser of the year! We use the funds we raise at this event to continue our mission to cultivate a community that celebrates the art, culture, and enjoyment of wine and food through educational programs and unparalleled events.

The evening will kick off with a preview reception where all 70+ auction lots will be displayed, and guests will enjoy wines from our Featured Winemaker’s portfolio. Next will be an elegant dinner complemented by an impressive wine selection. The highlight of the evening will be the electrifying live auction, where spirited bidders will compete for rare and fine wines and other luxury packages.

2024 FEATURED WINEMAKER

We’re thrilled to announce that esteemed vintner Kathryn Walt Hall, co-owner of HALL Napa Valley, WALT Pinot Noir, and BACA Wines, will be this year’s Featured Winemaker.

Mrs. Hall has a distinguished career spanning winemaking, business, law, and diplomacy. Additionally, her commitment to philanthropy and sustainable practices is truly inspiring. Her dedication to social issues, from serving on nonprofit boards to co-founding initiatives like the North Texas Food Bank, showcases her unwavering passion for making a positive impact. We are honored to have Kathryn Walt Hall share her expertise and award-winning wines with us.

Past years have seen notable Featured Winemakers such as Laurent Drouhin of Maison Joseph Drouhin, Paul Hobbs of Paul Hobbs Winery, Hugh Davies of Schramsberg Vineyards, and Merry Edwards of Merry Edwards Winery.

PHILANTHROPY

Fundraising from this event supports the Wine & Food Foundation’s philanthropic initiatives, including support for the hospitality community in the form of grants, scholarships, education, and industry support, as well as generous financial support to our 2024 beneficiaries, which include the Sustainable Food Center and Keep Austin Fed.

We are so proud to have been able to donate $75k in 2023 to our beneficiary partners, with an even bigger goal set for 2024.
