WFF is excited to welcome Jean Philippe Janoueix of Château La Croix St Georges in Pomerol and Châteaus La Confession and Cap St Georges in Saint-Emilion, as well as François Despagne of Château Grand Corbin Despagne in Saint Emilion and Château Ampelia in Castillon-Cotes de Bordeaux.

Jean Philippe Janoueix
1994 marks Jean Philippe Janoueix’s first vintage as a young farmer, with the founding of Château de Chambrun on a small 1.7-hectare plot in Lalande de Pomerol. Quickly, Chambrun became the reference for quality in the appellation. Since then, Jean Philippe has built up a fine portfolio of wines in the appellations of Pomerol, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Saint Georges Saint-Emilion, and Bordeaux Supérieur. He credits the success of all of his wines to the meticulous selection of both the terroir and vines.

François Despagne
The Despagne name has been inextricably linked with the land of Saint-Emilion since at least the beginning of the 17th Century. Louis Despagne, born in 1789, settled at Corbin, not far from Cheval Blanc, and acquired the family’s first plots in 1812.

By the 20th Century, the winery’s reputation for making consistently high-quality wines earned them the rank of Grand Cru Classé when the first official classification of the growths of Saint-Emilion took place.

François is the seventh generation of winemakers in this renowned family!
