September Cellar Salon
Join us for an evening of incredible wines and community! Thank you to C.L. Butaud for allowing us to host our Cellar Salon in their swanky new Tasting Room!
Guests are asked to bring a “bottle (or two) of distinction” to share with the group. While you can bring any wine that fits the typical Cellar Salon guidelines (see “What Wine Should I Bring?” below), we encourage everyone to look at their Grenache collection for this one!
International Grenache Day is just a couple of days later, on September 20, and we know Winemaker Randy Hester will be opening some bottles of his incredible Grenache wines that night!
Cellar Salons are a perk of being an Epicurean-level WFF member. Interested in starting or upgrading your WFF Membership? Learn more here!
Cost: Free for WFF Epicurean Members.
Theme: Great Grenache (but feel free to bring any rare and/or high-value bottle you’d like to share!)
What are WFF Cellar Salons?
Our WFF Cellar Salons are exclusive, intimate gatherings of wine connoisseurs and collectors—an opportunity for like-minded individuals to gather and indulge in rare and fine wines with other wine lovers!
What Wine Should I Bring?
This would be a rare and/or high-value bottle of wine that you would be happy to share with fellow members. Shared wines are typically rated 92+ and are usually $75+.
Don’t have anything in your collection? Visit our friends at Twin Liquors, Neighborhood Vintner, Austin Wine Merchant, High Country Market, or The Wine Cellar and ask them for guidance!
C.L. Butaud was founded in Austin, Texas, in 2014 by husband and wife Randy and Brooke Hester. Their mission was to create ultra-premium wines entirely from Texas vineyards, building on their experience working at some of the most acclaimed Napa Valley wineries. The Hesters’ winemaking journey began in 2006 in Napa Valley, where they set out on a 10-year path of training, education and research under noteworthy winemakers and mentors.
C.L. Butaud has been recognized as a top Texas wine by Texas Monthly, the Texas Department of Agriculture, Austin Monthly, Austin American Statesman, Houston Chronicle, Forbes, and has been reviewed by Decanter, Wine Advocate, James Suckling, and VinePair, with inclusion in Vine Pair’s 50 Best Wines of 2021, and “30 Best Red Wines to drink in 2022.” The 2017 Tempranillo received a 91-point score by Decanter and the 2019 Desert Willow Mourvèdre was named VinePair’s Top 50 Wines of 2021.
