RARE & FINE WINE AUCTION
Over the last 34 years, WFFT has donated more than $1.5 million back into the Central Texas through our mission of cultivating and investing in the wine and food community through education, appreciation, and enjoyment.
We are dedicated to providing direct financial support to sommeliers, chefs, and winemakers through scholarships, travel stipends, and professional development opportunities. We are also committed to supporting other organizations who directly support these industries and partner with us to make an impact in our viticulture and culinary community.
The success of the Rare & Fine Wine Auction enables us to continue to support the professionals that provide our community with dynamic experiences. The 2020 Rare & Fine Wine Auction features an elegant dinner accompanied by an impressive wine selection presented by a team of Texas' best sommeliers. The highlight of the evening is the electrifying live auction, where bidders competed for rare and fine wines, as well as other luxury packages, all in support of The Wine & Food Foundation of Texas' mission to cultivate and invest in the wine and food communities of Central Texas. Save the date for the 35th Annual Rare & Fine Wine Auction on Saturday April 4, 2020 for this celebratory evening of fine wine, superb company and spirited bidding!
This year, The Wine & Food Foundation of Texas is thrilled to honor the venerable Hugh Davies of the world-class Schramsberg and Davies Vineyards.
One might say that Hugh Davies was born with a wineglass in his hand, and that wouldn’t be too far from the truth. Hugh was born in 1965, the same year that his parents, Jack and Jamie Davies, purchased the abandoned Schramsberg Estate in Calistoga. Hugh grew up among the vines, caves, tanks and barrels that make Schramsberg Vineyards what it is today: the premier producer of American sparkling wines.
